Founder Story

Not because we are young do we chase dreams—
But because we have dreams, life leaves no regrets.

My name is Xiaoyun, founder of Chasing the Dream Dance Showcase (圆梦舞展). I work closely with our team to shape each performance into something meaningful. But more than organizers, we are dreamers ourselves.

​

Dance was once an essential part of my life. Yet, like many, I stepped away from the stage as life unfolded—through studies, career, and family.

But stepping away was never the same as letting go. The love for dance never disappeared.

Over time, I came to realize something deeply shared among many adults: What keeps us from returning to the stage is not a lack of ability, nor commitment, but the absence of a space that truly belongs to us.

We are willing to practice.
We are willing to invest time and effort.
We are willing to take dance seriously.

Yet rarely do we have the opportunity to stand alone on stage— to fully express ourselves through a solo performance, just once, for ourselves.

And that is how Chasing the Dream Dance Showcase was born in 2023—with tremendous support from the community.

不是因为年轻才去追梦，
而是因为心中有梦，人生才不留遗憾。

我是小云，《圆梦舞展》（Chasing the Dream Dance Showcase）的发起人之一。

我与团队一起负责整体方向与内容呈现的把控，打磨每一个节目与舞台呈现。但我们不仅是组织者，更是一起追梦的人。

舞蹈，曾经是我生命中非常重要的一部分。
但在人生的不同阶段——学业、事业、家庭——我像很多人一样，逐渐离开了舞台。

但离开，从不等于放下。
那份对舞蹈的热爱，一直都在。

在这个过程中，我慢慢意识到一件很多成年人共同面对的事情：

阻碍我们重新站上舞台的，并不是能力，也不是投入，
而是——缺少一个真正属于我们的舞台。

我们愿意练习，愿意投入时间和精力，也愿意认真对待舞蹈。

但却很少有机会，可以独自站在舞台中央，为自己完整地表达一次。

正是在这样的初心下，圆梦舞展》于2023年诞生，并得到了社区的大力支持。

Our Mission 

Chasing the Dream Dance Showcase is a stage created for amateur dancers aged 40 and above.

It is not defined by professionalism,
nor limited by age.

Instead, it is a space where every dancer has the opportunity to:

• Complete a dance that truly belongs to them

• Express their story with intention and authenticity

• Step into the spotlight—not as part of a crowd, but as themselves

We believe:

Dreams are not bound by age.
If you have a dream, you can still pursue it.
And you deserve the chance to do so—without regret.

Perhaps it has been years since you last stood on stage.
Perhaps you have only danced in group routines—following choreography, blending into the crowd.
Perhaps you have been waiting—for the right moment, the right space.

《圆梦舞展》是一个为40岁以上业余舞蹈爱好者打造的舞台。

它不以专业为门槛，也不以年龄为限制。

在这里，每一位舞者都有机会：

• 完成一支真正属于自己的舞蹈

• 用舞蹈表达自己的故事与情感

• 站在舞台中央，以“自己”的身份被看见

我们相信：

梦想不受年龄限制，只要有梦，就值得去追；
人生，不该留下遗憾。

也许你已经很久没有站上舞台，
也许你一直在群舞中，跟随编排，在人群中完成动作，
也许你始终在等待一个合适的机会。
